Morgan McDonnell, RD, LD
I’m a Navy spouse, animal lover, avid flower gardener and foodie!
Food and body image were struggles for me growing up. This is why it is such a passion to help clients or parents create more positive relationships with food. I currently live with PCOS(PMOS) and endometriosis. I understand how various circumstances in life can create fear and anxiety with food experiences and trigger body image issues.
My work as a dietitian has been a fun mix of various specialties. I have worked with general pediatrics, pediatric oncology and eating disorders throughout the lifespan. All my specialities throughout the years have shown the necessity of adequate and consistent intake as well as fostering satisfaction and enjoyment while eating.
As a dietitian, I believe that YOU are the expert of your own body. My job is to give you the tools to understand both food and your physiology. Together, we'll re-attune you to your body's natural cues to help you honor its nutritional needs.
For most of my career, I've supported folks of all ages to heal from a range of eating disorders and disordered eating. Additionally, I've worked in multiple kitchens, helping folks reconnect with the land and food in enjoyable ways. The goal for all of my clients is to decrease food anxiety, and reconnect with the joy they experience with food!
In addition to providing counseling, I also provide consultations for other providers and organizations on how to navigate the presence of eating disorders or disordered eating. My workshops include but are not limited to: diffusing diet culture language, recognizing disordered eating, understanding treatment methods and levels of care, mindful eating, and finding pleasure from the nutritional content of food.
